East Midlands Region AGM and Regional Dinner

After reports from the current executive, a vote took place to elect the new chairman, James Poland of Leicestershire CF won. A talk was given by the new Main party regional chairman. Many points were raised. Please see the regional minutes to follow.

The Dinner was at Zizi's on Belvoir street, Leicester. Fantastic Food.

We wish the New Chairman and his executive the best of luck for the next year. We also thank the past Chairman Thomas Turrell and his executives for their hard work the past year.

Halloween Party

The Halloween Party organised by the Branch was held on Friday 28th October 2011. Members from South Holland and the Deepings, Lincoln, Louth, Boston and Fenland CF had a spooky time at the Mansion House, Holbeach, South Lincolnshire for an evening of food, fun, games, drinks and Fancy Dress competition.
Everyone looked fantastic in their costumes and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. A very small amount of money was raised for the Branch.

MEMBERS of South Holland and the Deepings Conservative Future recently attended their first Conservative Policy Forum organised by the Area CPF team and held in their constituency. The Topic for discusion was sustainable energy. All members were highly enthusiastic when debating this topic which is so close to their hearts.
Guest Speaked was the constituencies MP John Hayes, who is also Minister of State (Further Education, Skills and Lifelong Learning), Business, Innovation and Skills.
This wasn't all work and no play however. All CF members and main party members enjoyed the delicious a delicious Italian Meal at JOES in Spalding.
The South Holland and the Deepings Branch is due to have their own first Policy Forum at their next meeting on the 10th October. The topic for discussion will be "Young Vulnerable People".

First Meeting

A very successful first meeting at Bootleggers Steak House, Spalding. All but one member attended, so a fantastic turn out of 13. Area Chairman, and branch Chairman of Louth Christopher Green, Deputy Area Chairman and Boston Branch Chairman Thomas Ashton, and Lincoln Branch Chairman Laura Goodliffe also attended. A great deal was talked about including potential social action / fundraising events. As well as events to raise the profile of politics with young people in the area.
Next meeting planned for 1st July.

Resignation

It is with deep regret that Sarah-Jane Sewell, Branch Chairman, has resigned from her position on the East Midlands Regional Executive as Regional Vice-Chairman of Communications. The reasons for this being that she wishes to focus greater on the Spalding and the Deepings Branch, and for other personal reasons.

Members Enjoy Sunday Lunch with Emma McClarkin MEP

On Sunday 22nd May 2011, five members of the Spalding and the Deepings Conservative Future constituency Branch based in the south of Lincolnshire, and the newly elected Cllr Robin Hunter-Clarke of Skegness Town council, Skegness CF Branch Chairman, and CF Deputy Regional Chairman, attended a Sunday dinner at the Woodlands Hotel which had been organised by Judi Spinks of the Shires Branch. Emma McClarkin MEP joined the group of about twenty people. It was an honour for all to be able to meet Emma, a young, vibrant and passionate politician, who is proving to be an inspiration to young people in politics. After enjoying three delicious courses, members heard an address given by Emma explaining her role within the European parliament, and her aims along with the parties’ aims for the future. Emma praised the involvement of the younger members, our Conservative Future Branch, and further emphasised how we "are the future".
